Buster Brown Outfit part 3...
The outfit is finished... pretty much. The only things missing are the black bow and the belt. I have to purchase a bit of black cotton tomorrow for the bow. The belt, I'm not certain about. I would like to find a simple, thin leather belt. But here is the mostly finished product. My baby will model it later, when it's fully complete.

Buster Brown Outfit part 2...
The outfit is coming along nicely. The pants are mostly finished. I just have to pick out a few inches in the legs and lake the crotch a little lower. Nothing major. I had my baby try on the shirt and it fit just fine. After I caught him again to remove his new shirt, I commenced to fix the cuffs. The collar is finished, but the cuffs weren't quite long enough. So I cut new ones and am stitching them on. Then I need to hem the bottom and make the black bow. The last thing is a belt and some belt loops to draw in the waist of the shirt a little. Hopefully, I can be finish the outfit on Saturday. At worst, it will be finished Sunday. Then on to the next outfit for the family. Pictures will come tomorrow.

Buster Brown Outfit...
I am stitching an outfit for my son using this pattern...

My version is much simpler, without all the embroidery and has a simple collar. It's based on the 1902 comic strip, "Buster Brown". His outfit is completely red, with a white collar and a black bow. Part of my reason for making this, is my baby reminds me of the character of Buster Brown. I ended up cutting his hair the same way, so he's a dead ringer for the character. He is also inadvertently mischievous like the character.
Since I'm sewing this and will also be sewing my daughter the original Girl Scout uniform from the 1910s and sewing evening wear for my fella and myself, also from the Edwardian era. Since my older son wants a suit from this era, I might as well make the lot and we'll have our family portrait done Edwardian style. My older son also wants a wool coat like his sister and we agreed on a pattern.
